The managing director of the Legal and General Mortgage Club and some of his staff are set to cycle 1,800 miles to raise money for charity.
Ben Thompson and nine other employees at the firm will begin the 17-day bike ride and aim to cycle 100 miles a day in their fundraising attempt.
The goal of the group is to raise £40,000 to support the Rethink mental illness charity, which provides information and support services for those in need.
Mr Thompson’s efforts have been so well appreciated by the charity they have named him and his team the “fundraisers of the month” for June 2013.
The team leader said: “Our aim is to raise awareness of the difficulties people with mental illness face and raise funds to help Rethink provide a greater level of support.”
Legal and General Mortgage Club offers exclusive low mortgage rates to its clients and is part of a huge FTSE 100 company that reported an operating income of £1.2 billion in 2012.
