Principality scoops mortgage award

Principality Building Society has been recognised for its mortgage provision in the Financial Times Adviser Online Services Award.
The group scooped the title of best overall five star best mortgage lender and packager at the prize-giving, which is voted for by independent financial advisers throughout the UK and concerns the web-based services offered by providers.
A number of different criteria are taken into account as part of the awards, including reliability, personal contact, support levels and ease of transaction.
In addition, Principality – which was formed in 1860 in Wales – was also named the most improved lender of the past 12 months.
Peter Owen, head of member services at the building society, said: “It’s fantastic that we have been recognised as the top performing lender within our industry – an independent measure that we are getting it right.”
Gwyn Bartley-Forsyth, an independent financial adviser of Simply Mortgages in Bangor, noted the competitive product range, service and flexibility offered by Principality means she was not surprised the group achieved so much at the awards ceremony.
