There are many attractive mortgage deals on the market at present, it has been claimed.
Catherine Hearnden, director at MyMortgageDirect – which is managed by independent financial advisers at Hearnden Associates – noted householders nearing the end of their current home loan arrangement can take their time in order to find the most competitive agreements available.
Ms Hearnden advised these homeowners to not rush into signing up for any plans, noting: “There are some very good deals out there and it is definitely worth looking.”
She was speaking in response to new findings from unbiased.co.uk that revealed demand for advice regarding remortgaging has been on the up of late, with searches of this type climbing to represent 35 per cent of all whole of market home loan enquiries made last month.
One of the reasons people have been considering their options may be that reports of interest rate hikes have spurred individuals on to remortgage sooner rather than later.
However, Ms Hearnden explained these escalations in standard variable rates have yet to come to fruition.
