Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks have announced the release of new fee-free mortgages for first-time buyers (FTBs).
The offer represents a move by the banks to underline their commitment to assisting potential homeowners as they look to enter the property market.
As a result of the unveiling, those who sign up for a 90 per cent or 95 per cent loan-to-value (LTV) home loan can enjoy a saving of £599.
In addition, rates for FTB mortgages have been reduced to 5.99 per cent for a 95 per cent LTV deal and a 4.99 per cent for a 90 per cent option.
Steve Reid, retail director for Clydesdale Bank – which was established in Glasgow in 1838 – said: “We understand how difficult buying a new home can be and we hope that our fee-free offer and new rates will help even more potential buyers.”
The promotion will also see customers being given the opportunity to obtain Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks’ insurance with a five per cent introductory discount, in addition to a two-year, no claims discount of ten per cent.
