Chelsea Building Society has collected a prize at the Moneywise Mortgage Awards.
The group picked up the accolade for Best Lender for Fixed Rates at the ceremony after being recognised for its consistency and high level of service.
Jemma Smith, product manager at Chelsea, said the building society was delighted to be honoured in this way, explaining it has been successful in its attempt to expand its portfolio over the last year.
Ms Smith stated: “This is not just in terms of our best buy rates, but also through innovative products such as our five, six [and] seven-year term mortgage.”
She explained Chelsea has made waves by introducing legal fees and an offset option, while also bringing in a number of different fee selections as it looks to bolster customer choice.
The awarding of the prize was decided with a number of factors in mind, such as fees, penalties, service standards, flexibility of lending, customer service and the value of offers.
Ms Smith added the customer is central to all decisions made at Chelsea, but noted gaining recognition from colleagues and peers is also important.
