An independent estate agency group has beaten the competition to collect a prestigious mortgage accolade.
Spicerhaart was named Mortgage Firm of the Year at the Sesame Adviser Awards 2011, which were held as part of the Sesame Symposium at the Park Plaza Hotel in London.
David Miles, managing director of Spicerhaart Financial Services – which has roots stretching back to 1989, when Spicer McColl was launched with the setting up of three branches – said the company is delighted to have been recognised in such a way.
The industry figure stated: “It is a huge honour and fitting testimony to the hard work put in by everyone at Spicerhaart to make the financial services division so successful.”
US Olympic gold medallist Michael Johnson presented the gongs at the ceremony, where judges pointed to the mortgage provider’s significant growth in the last 12 months as reason for its win.
According to the panel, the firm – which is headquartered in Colchester but operates a network of branch-based consultants throughout Britain – has excelled in the field despite continuing challenging market conditions.
