Mortgage seekers might be getting more confident after unbiased.co.uk reported that demand for advice on buying new homes has reached an annual high.
The organisation noted that searches for first-time buyer mortgage advice reached 41 per cent in August, while searches for remortgage advice also remained relatively high at 33 per cent.
It means first-time buyer queries was the number one advice driver for consumers looking for information of the whole-of-market provider’s website.
Chief Executive Karen Barrett said: “Our latest figures reveal that enquiries for first-time buyer advice reached a new high in August, suggesting real momentum in the first-time buyer market and a real consumer drive for mortgage advice.
“This new market confidence has been fuelled by the continuing fall in house prices and mortgage rates since 2008.”
The news follows the release of the Halifax UK House Price Index, which showed that the typical value of a home was down year-on-year and month-on-month in August, but actually increased by one per cent on the previous quarter.
